BIO - Ronlad Abdala
Ronald Abdala was born in London in March 1979, to
Lebanese parents. After attending schools in London,
Lagos, Paris, and Beirut, he moved to Los Angeles in
1996 where he enrolled in a fashion design program
at the Fashion Institute of Design and Marketing.
In 1998 he moved back to Beirut where he began a
degree in Graphic Design, but shortly thereafter
enrolled in Esmod Beirut to pursue a Bachelors
Degree in Fashion Design. In 2002, after graduating
top of his class, he attended Central Saint Martins
in London to complete a two-year program, which
included fashion marketing, and experimental fashion
with David Kappo.
In 2004 he returned to Beirut where he joined one of
Beirut's most successful couture houses: Maison
Rabih Kayrouz as senior fashion designer. In the
summer of 2007, he launched his Label "Ronald Abdala”
and has currently presented seven collections. In
2009 “Ronald Abdala” was one of three young talents
to be featured in the second season of the Maison
Rabih Kayrouz young designer boutique Starch.
In 2010, Ronald was selected to represent Lebanon
for the first session of the "Maison
Euromediterranean de la Mode a Marseille". The
workshop, which runs for a period of six months,
groups seven young designers of Mediterranean decent
with established young designers, architects, heads
of companies, and professionals in the fashion
business, and aims to build a Euromediterranean
fashion network. Jean Jacques Picart, Jocelyn Imbert,
and Maryline Bellieud parent the workshop.
